Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has received a timely boost ahead of their weekend tie with Aston Villa with news that three of his players will be available for selection.

The trio of Steven Bergwijn, Ben Davies and Giovani Lo Celso will all return for the game and there is a chance too for winger Erik Lamela; the Argentine set for a late fitness test.

“No more limitation with Bergwijn, now he can play. Davies is back. He is ready to play. Lo Celso is ready to play. Lamela (muscle) we have to assess tomorrow but if not for Sunday then for Wednesday,” Mourinho said.

Bergwijn pulled up on his debut against Manchester City at the start of February and missed Spurs’ FA Cup fourth-round replay victory over Southampton last week because he was ineligible to play in the competition.

Giovani Lo Celso (thigh) also sat out of that game while Ben Davies hasn’t played since November because of an ankle problem.

Spurs, however, will still do without the services of captain Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko (knee) and young defender Juan Foyth.

Spurs who is placed sixth on the league body is among teams fighting for the fourth-place position with Villa trying all they can to avoid relegation.
